Word Work

As we are faced with another Professional Development day this week my collegue and I have been discussing revamping our word work program. We have been using Words their Way but want to switch it up a bit to hit some of the words that our students always seem to get wrong no matter how many times you spell it out for them. So what do we do? That is what we are investigating this week. I will be on the hunt for word work ideas from intermediate teachers. Stay tuned and I will report our findings and let you know how it goes. If anyone reads this and has some ideas for us PLEASE feel free to comment and shed some light on this topic for us! Have a great week.

  2. Hi Kendra!

I just found your blog and am happy to be your newest follower!

Have you been to Beth Newmingham's site? She is awesome and can provide lots of literacy ideas.

There is also a blog called Hello Literacy that might help.

I would love for you to visit me when you get the chance. =)

  4. This year I am going to use Words Their Way. Students will take the Spelling Assessment and put into groups according to their needs. We'll see how it works. I'll be posting about it on my blog after it has started, whether it works or not.
